Kim Tulloch Ba(Hons) Ballet Education RAD RTS ISTD DDE
Kim grew up in Langport and danced throughout her childhood, attending regular classes in ballet, modern, tap and jazz, from the age of 19 she studied for three years in London at the Royal Academy of Dance. During her training she was teaching at Ballet schools and Preparatory schools in South West London, which she continued with after graduating in 2009. For a change of pace she returned home to Somerset and began classes in Langport. There are approximately 100 wonderful children who attend weekly classes with Kim, the majority of them have taken one or more ballet exams already. Kim also has experience teaching Street Dance in primary schools which means that hundreds of children have been given the chance to get creative, learn new skills and realise how much fun dancing can be. Kim has a passion for dance and loves seeing children happy, active and achieving their potential.
Kim is currently working towards her full ISTD Modern and Tap teaching qualifications so children are now able to be entered for these exams too. The first session was in July 2015 with excellent results! The next session is in February 2017.
Kim became a qualified Zumba instructor in June 2011 and completed her Exercise to Music Fitness Instructor course (Level 2) in 2012. Both of these allow Kim to teach adults in the community and help them to enjoy keeping active regardless of age or ability.
Kim is now a registered mentor for RAD and is helping two students undergo their teacher training in South Wales, this is a great chance to develop her teaching knowledge and to pass on her passion for teaching dance.
